Laura D. Figueroa

Laura D. Figueroa is a Partner in the Sugar Land, Texas office of The Arbitrage Group, Inc..  Ms. Figueroa serves as either a project director or technical reviewer for the Verification Practice of The Group.  Ms. Figueroa’s primary responsibility in the Verification Practice has been the verification of compliance with Treasury regulations for bond obligation financing structures including:

• Advance and current refundings;

• Escrow restructurings;

• Defeasances; and,

• Other cash flow and yield structures.

Prior to joining The Group, Ms. Figueroa was a Senior Manager in the National Arbitrage Practice of KPMG Peat Marwick LLP.  Her experience was concentrated in the preparation and review of verification computations.  She served in this capacity for over four years.

Prior to joining KPMG’s National Arbitrage Practice, Ms. Figueroa was a member of KPMG’s Audit Practice.

Ms. Figueroa earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin.  She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.
